Jacob V Joyce x Whitechapel Gallery

This piece, ‘Nourishing Disruptions', was painted for artist Jacob V Joyce on behalf of the Whitechapel Gallery.

The artwork is a celebration of the rich and diverse local history of Tower Hamlets. The mural pays tribute to some of the area’s radical activists and art histories of the Whitechapel area, including the Jagonari Women’s Centre, the Shaheed Minar Monument, Canon Barnett Primary School and the protests to save the Bell Foundry.

Tower Hamlets Council commissioned the project in partnership with the Whitechapel Gallery, London Metropolitan University and the City of London Corporation.

The mural is located on the corner of Pomell Way and Old Castle Street, London E1. A short walk from Aldgate East station and the Whitechapel Gallery.
